Pensive Marilyn
I have a great fascination for the late Marilyn, and love to see shots of her at the most candid, such as what you see here. Though she battled with depression her whole life, she always seemed to glow physically. And anyone who says she was just a pretty face has never seen her act or heard her voice. She wasn't the best at either acting or singing, but she was a superstar the likes of which we haven't seen since. Done on Bristol smooth 300 series paper, 19 " x 24". Used all pencils up to 6H and (obviously) wore out a few 7Bs. This is a photograph of the drawing. (The thickness of the 7B doesn't make for good scanning.) |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
